Carcasses and pigs are mentioned in the Qur’an Surah Al-Maidah verse 3. In addition to this, the status of blood and animals slaughtered not in the name of Allah is also mentioned in this verse.

It means:

“It is forbidden for you (to eat) carrion, blood, pork (animal meat) that is slaughtered in the name of other than Allah, those who strangled, those who were struck, those who fell, those that were gored, and were devoured by wild beasts, except those you had time to slaughter, and (forbidden to you) those who were slaughtered for idols.”

2. Animals that Die by Not Mentioning the Name of Allah SWT

In addition to the Al-Qur’an Surah Al-Maidah verse 3, the provision of eating dead animals without mentioning the name of Allah is also contained in Al-An’am verse 121.

It means:

“And do not eat animals that are not mentioned by Allah’s name when slaughtering them. Verily, such an act is an act of disobedience.”

3. Animals That Eat Poop

Animals that eat feces (jalallah) are included in the haram food that should not be consumed. Muslims are advised not to eat meat or milk produced by jallalah animals.

It means:

” Rasulullah SAW forbade meat and milk from jallalah.” (HR. Ibn Majah)

4. Flowing Blood

Al-Qur’an Surah Al-an’am verse 145 explains that it is forbidden to consume flowing blood.

It means:

Say, “I did not find in the revelation that was revealed to me, anything that is forbidden for those who want to eat it, except that the food is carrion, or blood that flows or the flesh of pigs, for verily these are filthy, or animals slaughtered in the name of other than Allah. “

5. Khamr

HR An-Nasa’i explained that every Muslim is prohibited from consuming all intoxicating drinks such as alcohol and khamr.

It means:

“Every intoxicant is khamr and every khamr is haram.” (HR An-Nasa’i).

6. Fanged Animals

The provisions of not eating fanged animals are contained in the hadith narrated by Abu Hurrairah.

It means:

“Every wild animal that has fangs, then eating it is haram.” (HR Muslim).

7. Bird with Sharp Toenails

Birds are actually halal consumed by Muslims. However, different provisions are applied to birds with sharp nails, according to the hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas that the law is forbidden food.

It means:

“The Messenger of Allah SWT forbade eating every wild animal with fangs, and every kind of bird that has claws for gripping.” (HR Muslim).
