Food Menus to Avoid on an Airplane
For those of you who travel a lot, seeing a list of food menus on planes is familiar, but are you aware? apparently there is no pasta on the menu. Pasta is sometimes an alternative menu for those of you who don’t want to eat rice but still want to feel full. Then why is pasta not on the menu?
When pasta is served on the plane, the food is usually reheated before serving, if the pasta is served, the pasta will be so overcooked that the expected al dente taste of pasta will not be encountered on the plane. In addition, if the ratio of sauce and pasta is not appropriate, it will most likely result in a taste that is far from delicious.
As quoted by Food and Wine, the Executive Director of the Hunter College NYC Center for Food Policy reviews and assesses the food available on US and Canadian airlines. He noted that pasta or other high-carbohydrate foods were not the best option for passengers.
“Eating a lot of heavy carbohydrates like pasta with thick sauce, bread, muffins or cakes will make you feel lethargic, cranky, and not full or satisfied. Your blood sugar level will spike and then drop which will have a negative impact on how you feel,” she says.
So what can be consumed while on the plane? foods such as rice and fruit are good alternatives. In fact, you may not need to order airline food at all or bring your own food. You can just bring popcorn, protein bars or whole fruit according to your taste.
It is a good choice, healthy and practical, because it can save expenses as well.
